From Small Jobs to Dedicated Focus
Garrett began his career at LCS by handling a variety of smaller projects for different clients. Over time, his role evolved, and he now focuses primarily on one key client, tailoring his work to meet their specific needs. "I started out doing a lot of smaller jobs for a few different clients. Now, I am more focused on one client and the specific things they need," Garrett shares. This shift has allowed him to deepen his expertise and create more impactful designs that align closely with client goals.
Passion for Design and Attention to Detail
One of Garrett's favorite aspects of working at LCS is the opportunity to develop his design skills further. He thrives on the challenge of applying his creativity to produce collateral that truly resonates with the client. "My favorite part of working at LCS has been developing my design skills and applying them to create the collateral that meets the client’s needs," he says.
Garrett's commitment to excellence is evident in his meticulous approach to typesetting. He emphasizes the importance of focusing on the finer details, explaining, "There are a ton of little details that go into typesetting. Taking the time to get all the little details right makes the process easier and the finished product better." This attention to detail is what sets his work apart and ensures that every project he undertakes is of the highest quality.
A Team of Problem Solvers
When asked about his team at LCS, Garrett describes them as a "good-natured group of keen problem solvers." This camaraderie and collaborative spirit make LCS a great place to work and foster an environment where creativity and innovation thrive.
Beyond Work: A Love for Retro Horror
Outside of his professional life, Garrett has a quirky hobby that might surprise his colleagues—he enjoys watching B-tier horror movies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. He finds joy in the unique charm of these films, noting that "Sometimes they’re so bad, they’re good." This lighthearted interest adds a fun dimension to his personality and gives a glimpse into his creative and imaginative mind.
Looking Ahead: Goals and Advice
Garrett is not one to rest on his laurels. He is always looking for ways to improve and set new goals for himself. In the coming months and years, he aims to become faster at delivering high-quality designs, enhancing both his efficiency and the quality of his work.
Reflecting on his journey, Garrett offers valuable advice to his younger self: "I would tell myself to take my time reviewing things. Another thing I would tell myself would be to always use the internet to research any questions I have. The Adobe forums are a wealth of knowledge." This advice underscores the importance of continuous learning and the value of thoroughness in one's work.
