Since joining Liberty Creative Solutions in November 2023, Chris has grown from a KM operator to handling the advanced Canon iX, reflecting his passion and adaptability in the printing industry. Outside of work, Chris’s adventurous spirit is evident in his musical past, where he toured the US and Canada, and now in his exploration of animation and After Effects. Chris is dedicated to continuous learning and improving print quality, while appreciating the balance of hard work and fun within his team.

Since joining Liberty Creative Solutions (LCS) in November 2023, Chris has experienced a remarkable journey of growth and passion in the printing industry. Starting as a second-shift KM operator, Chris now operates the advanced Canon iX, showcasing an impressive evolution in a relatively short span of time.

Chris's enthusiasm for printing is evident in his favorite aspect of working at LCS. "We produce a wide variety of projects that keep the work exciting," he shares, highlighting the constant diversity and challenge that fuels his dedication to the craft.

While many of Chris's coworkers know him as a dedicated and skilled professional, they might be surprised to learn about his musical past. Chris used to sing for several bands, touring across the US and Canada. "We toured the US and Canada a few times until we all realized that sleeping in a van for a month with six other people did not help our back problems. We all got old," he recalls with a chuckle. Despite moving on from his musical career, this experience highlights Chris's adventurous spirit and willingness to explore diverse interests.

Looking ahead, Chris has ambitious goals for both the near and distant future. He is currently exploring After Effects and aims to deepen his knowledge of animation. "I’ve been playing around with After Effects and would like to learn more about animation. Possibly overcome my bias towards AI tools and utilize Photoshop’s generative fill in some of my artwork," Chris says. These aspirations reflect his commitment to continuous learning and adaptation, ensuring he stays at the forefront of industry advancements.

One aspect of his job that Chris wishes more people understood is the importance of DPI (dots per inch). "The importance of DPI, and why a random picture you found on the internet won't print well," he emphasizes, aiming to educate clients and colleagues on such technical details. By doing so, Chris helps ensure higher quality outcomes and smoother project workflows.

When asked to describe his team, Chris highlights their hardworking and knowledgeable nature. "They’re serious about the job but still like to have fun," he notes, appreciating the balance that creates a positive and productive work environment. This dynamic is essential for maintaining high morale and fostering a collaborative atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

Reflecting on his journey, Chris offers valuable advice to his younger self: "Take that job you were offered at 19, it will save you 10+ years of retail management, and you don’t end up doing design work anyway." This hindsight underscores the importance of seizing opportunities and the impact that career choices can have on one's path.

Chris's story at Liberty Creative Solutions is one of growth, passion, and continuous learning. From his early days as a KM operator to his current role operating the Canon iX, Chris exemplifies dedication and adaptability. His diverse interests, from music to animation, enrich his professional journey, making him a multifaceted and inspiring figure at LCS. As Chris continues to explore new technologies and techniques, there's no doubt he will keep contributing to the success and innovation of Liberty Creative Solutions.
